Since it’s not actually on TV anymore (BOOOOOOOOHOOOO!), we had to call it a ‘Netflix Tip’. For those of you who have no idea what ‘Freaks and Geeks’ is (even more BOOHOO!): we’re talking about one of the best TV series ever. The fun in this title is actually that there is never made a second series. Kinda weird though since this series has delivered many of the now well-respected actors, like Seth Rogen, James Franco (oohlala), Jason Segel, Linda Cardellini and John Francis Daley.

“What is the series about then?” I’m hearing you ask. ‘Freaks and Geeks’ is exactly as the title says, a show about Freaks and Geeks. The show centers on teenage Lindsay Weir (Linda Cardellini) and her younger brother Sam (John Francis Daley), who both attend William McKinley High School during the 1980–1981 school year in the town of Chippewa, Michigan, a fictional suburb of Detroit. (Ok, I copied this from Wikipedia, since I’m a lazy fuck.) Lindsay searches for friendship with the ‘Freaks’: Daniel Desario (James Franco), Ken Miller (Seth Rogen), Nick Andopolis (Jason Segel), Kim Kelly (Busy Philipps) and Sam is in with the ‘Geeks’: Neal Schweiber (Samm Levine) and Bill Haverchuck (Martin Starr). Then, aside from that, you’ve also got some side characters which are mainly the parents of Sam and Lindsay and we have Cindy, a cheerleader Sam is in love with.

Of all of the characters in the show Neal is absolutely my favorite. He reminds me of a guy I used to know who was in drama school with me. Neal is like the eleven year old version of him (Let’s call him M.). M. was Jewish, had the same black frizzy hair, he was into fast cars, Frank Sinatra and all old movies like ‘A Fish Called Wanda’. M. even tried to talk like Sinatra for most of the time just to score girls (which never really worked). All-in-all I really liked M. and his weird behavior, so it’s truly joyful to watch a character like Neil.

Just go on and watch ‘Freaks and Geeks’. You can also just watch one episode and watch another a few days later. It’s very simple to fall back into. I like the series so much that I’m watching one episode a week. (I DON’T WANT IT TO END!)

And now to persuade you to watch this incredible show one more time; here’s a GIF of James Franco in ‘Freaks and Geeks’.

GOGOGOGO and enjoy!
