This years Teen Choice Awards were held in Los Angeles, California. Unfortunatly Glazed didn’t have a ticket nor the money to fly to the U.S.A so with the time difference and all, editor Carré took back the night to watch the TCA on the livestream. And we are glad she did!

I couldn’t stand the waiting I had to go through when my laptop didn’t load the live stream I had to watch the TCA’s 2013 on. Finally, after a good 10 minutes of frustration, the screen presented two people standing on a small platform that overlooked the entire carpet who were interviewing someone I had never heard of before. So like, whatever you know. I had time to grab some coffee and English biscuits.

The red carpet, or rather blue carpet, is always my favourite part of the evening. Seeing who wore what and who arrived with who sounds very shallow and superficial, but it actually makes my heart flutter knowing that Harry Styles arrived with the band and not with some blond who could destroy my naïve teenage dreams forever. Thank god the only blond he was close to that night was Niall Horan.

The evening started out with Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Lairs) and Darren Chris (Glee) introducing the event to everyone, and One Direction performing their new single ‘Best Song Ever’, latter later receiving the Award for CHOICE MUSIC GROUP (They also won CHOICE SUMMER TOUR with their Take Me Home Tour, CHOICE SINGLE BY A GROUP with LWWY, and CHOICE LOVE SONG with Little Things).

After a lot of awards taken by Pitch Perfect plus it’s cast, and Pretty Little Liars plus it’s cast, it was time for Glee to take the stage. Or maybe it wasn’t so glee. Even though the singers/actors got to take the award for CHOICE TV SHOW, COMEDY, CHOICE TV SCENE STEALER, MALE for Chord Overstreet, CHOICE TV BREAKOUT STAR for Blake Jenner and CHOICE TV ACTRESS, COMEDY for Lea Michelle, the entire mood changed when the recent widow opened up for the first time and spoke about her fiancé Cory Monteith’s death July 13th. The whole cast was affected by this tragic event, but still stood tall after they had to continue the show without their fellow cast mate. Especially Lea. After all she had to go through, she was still strong enough to be able to smile and receive the award, flashing the joyfull smile we’re used to. She truly is a strong woman.

‘’I want to dedicate this award to Cory. He was very special to me, and also to the world. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile, and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So if you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, he became a part of all of our hearts, and that’s where he’ll stay forever.’’ – Lea Michelle.

‘’Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most definitely the greatest fans in the world.’’

Ashton Kutcher went on the inspirational tour when accepting his award for ULTIMATE CHOICE. ‘’Okay, let’s be honest, this is like the old guy award. This is like the grandpa award!’’ That was the only funny quote you could find in his speech though, because right after this sentence he became strictly serious and continued; ‘’I believe that opportunity looks a lot like hard work.’’

I could ramble on about the outfits, about Harry twerking (oh my god!) and all the other things that happened that night, but that would make this article almost unreadable, so I’ll stop now.

Have a great day!

PS. Editor Nina wasn’t really into the Paramore performance. Claiming that “singer Hayley looked like an hot mess screaming and jumping around like a lunatic while surrounded by totally random ballet dancers”. What did you guys think? Leave it in the comments!
