EVENT REPORT: Robbie ”Fucking” Williams Entertains Us!

The Robbie Williams stage in the Arena, Amsterdam

“Let me reintroduce myself, I’m Robbie fucking Williams. You are Amster-fucking-dam. And for the next two hours, your ass is mine!’’

And the crowd goes wiiiiiild! I’m being serious though, the sold out seats, sat on by middle-aged woman who are obviously going through menopauze, and who still are a fan of Robbie even after his marriage, did go wild. And boy, these ladies know how to destroy their vocals chords, even at their age.

After seven years of waiting, Robbie ‘Fucking’ Williams most definitely entertained the Arena in Amsterdam, July 13th, when he appeared on stage, standing on the top of a massive recreated sculpture of his own face. Which is, with the age of 39, still pretty pleasant. After stating the above, Rob abseiled down the huge gold bust followed by flames and lights covering the entire stage. Pretty much like his stunt back in 2003, Live At Knebworth, where he practically fell from the sky, hanging upside down, held by nothing but a metal thread. He started his performance with the oh-so famous ‘’Let me entertain you’’ which was expected when you look back at Knebworth, followed by ‘Monsoon’ and ‘Not like the others’.

Robbie Williams, getting screamed at by scary menopauze ladies

The song I would like to shine a spotlight on is ‘’Kids’’, the Kylie Minogue collaboration hit he scored back in 2000. Music sensation cutie Olly Murs joined Robbie back on stage, after leaving the audience prepped and ready for Williams as the opening act (which we unfortunately missed, because SOMEONE didn’t get ready in time). Luckily, I caught a glimpse of both him and Robbie pelvic thrusting the air together, with Olly wearing his signature bowler hat. Mazel tov!

‘’We got tickets to see One Direction. He said it was a burning ambition to see them, before he died.’’

Everything together, the Robbie Williams concert was definitely worth the 80 euro’s you had to pay for it. You didn’t only get good live music, but also some entertaining comedy act, provided by a bra-less, double F, 50-year old Italian fan Robbie brought on stage to serenade to. The nipples visible through her t-shirt, exposed on an immense screen, were most definitely heart-warming. After a good laugh, and a reference to One Direction and ‘Harry Styles and the boys’ in his song ‘’Me and my monkey’’ (which got me screaming and fangirling like an insane person), I have to say that this was most definitely a spectacular evening, though Robbie Williams’ days are numbered in my opinion.
Let’s be honest, nobody really knew the words to the songs on his latest album.
